Our ‘godless congregation’ this month is not about police work – it’s about The Yard, the wonderful adventure play charity for disabled children in the east of Scotland. Yard CEO Celine Sinclair will be joining us to talk about the importance of play and how The Yard carries out its mission to create havens of adventure play, fun and friendship in Edinburgh, Dundee and Fife.
We will also be preparing for Sunday Assembly Edinburgh’s Brew & Bake day at the Yard on Sunday 23rd February – we’re looking for both bakers (in advance) and helpers (on the day). Please contact Marie Hernandez if you can help (or just come along and say hello at Sunday Assembly!).
Our Assembly on Sunday 2 February will feature our usual pop songs to sing along with, poems, reflections, tea and cake. Felicity will be speaking in the ‘doing my best’ slot about her aerial gymnastics (which is well worth hearing about). And we will be continuing January’s ‘community circle’ after the assembly to think about how to support and build on campaigns and issues that matter to us. Come along and join in.
As always, Sunday Assembly is family (and dog) friendly, fun and free to attend. Join us at Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne Street, Stockbridge at 11.30am on Sunday 2 February for an hour or so to celebrate this one life we know we have. And remember the Sunday Assembly motto: Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More!
