Sunday Assembly 2nd July 2023: Anatomy of the (Greek) Gods

Sunday Assembly 2nd July 2023: Anatomy of the (Greek) Gods

A great number of terms in not only anatomy, but also psychiatry, medicine, and other related disciplines, originate from Classical mythology. Just as the anatomy of the human body is interconnected, so is the anatomy of the Gods and Goddesses of Classical mythology. Guest speaker Charlie Guy will unpack the hidden connections between anatomy and mythology. Charlie is an anatomist and social historian (great combination!) from the Biomedical Science department of the University of Edinburgh. She is a very entertaining speaker and we’re looking forward to welcoming here to our July assembly.

And as usual there will be songs to sing with our house band, poems, reflections, chats, tea and cake. Join Edinburgh’s ‘secular congregation’ and enjoy a wonderful start to your Sunday. We are about inclusive community, inspiring ourselves, supporting others and celebrating this one life we know we have.

Sunday 2 July 2023, 11.30am, Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne St, Stockbridge EH4 1JB. Free to attend, family and dog friendly.

This one-hour event is open to all and free to attend. It’s helpful if you can reserve a place to let us know you’re coming: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/anatomy-of-the-greek-gods-a-sunday-assembly-event-tickets-660944230987.

“I’m so thankful to have recently heard of Sunday Assembly and now to have joined. It’s just what I think has been missing for me and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I’m loving it.” – says a recent member of our ‘congregration’.
