Our September assembly is on the theme ‘My neighbour hacked my toothbrush’ and features guest speaker Garry Scobie, an expert in cyber security at the University of Edinburgh. He says:
“Every day schools, hospitals, and businesses are under attack. But as we connect our devices to the internet, criminals have moved the dark web into our homes. Who are the cybercriminals, and what do they want? Is your fridge spying on you? What is your kettle up to? Are those wireless headphones listening to your thoughts? Find out how and why you, your home and your gadgets are under attack. And how to fight back!”
There will also be our usual mix of songs to sing with the house band, poems, reflections, chats, tea & cake. Take an hour on a Sunday morning to join Edinburgh’s ‘secular congregation’ as we strive to live life as fully as possible and Live Better, Help Often and Wonder More in a non-religious way. Free to come, all welcome, family and dog friendly. Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne Street, Stockbridge EH4 1JB, 11.30am on Sunday 4th September for about an hour.
We are continuing our efforts to livestream these events on Zoom for the benefit of those who can’t make it in person. If you haven’t registered before you can do so at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJUuc-Cgrj8rHNM24RG9ookmE_3XiSAzPRGr/ (Better to come in person if you can though…)
