Sunday Assembly 5 January 2020: You Gotta Move It

Start the New Year with connection and reflection, singing, thinking and cake at Sunday Assembly, Edinburgh’s ‘godless congregation’. Open to all, we meet to celebrate life and help each other to live better, help often and wonder more.

The first Sunday Assembly of 2020 is about the power of movement. We are looking forward to welcoming Dr Amanda Pitkethly from Napier University. She writes:

“According to the British Heart Foundation, inactivity is the fourth leading risk factor for premature death from any cause. Inactivity is dangerous! Have you heard this before? Have you been told you need to do more? But who likes being told what to do? We all know we should probably do more, but do we want to? Are you frustrated that people you know don’t do what they know they should. What would motivate us to change?”

We will also have pop songs to sing with the house band, poems, Scott will be ‘doing his best’ and there will be coffee, tea and cake. It’s family (and dog) friendly, fun and free. We meet at Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne Street, Stockbridge EH4 1JB at 11.30am on the first Sunday of each month. Come along and start your new year with a song, a swing and a supercharged Sunday!
