Sunday Assembly 3rd November 2019: A better world is possible – plus FOOD BANK COLLECTION

Sunday Assembly 3rd November 2019: A better world is possible – plus FOOD BANK COLLECTION

Our November Sunday Assembly is about looking forward optimistically. Our speaker is Sophie Bell from Mercy Corps, the global humanitarian (and very non-military) organisation which has a base in Edinburgh. Mercy Corps’ motto is ‘A better world IS possible’, and Sophie will be talking about how she and her colleagues are helping to bring a better world into being, particularly in relation to their work with displaced people.

We will also be singing pop songs with the house band, having poems and reflections, meeting some very interesting people and eating cake! Come and join us to celebrate life together at Edinburgh’s ‘godless congregation’ as we strive to support each other to Live Better, Help Often and Wonder More.

AND… there is a food bank collection for Edinburgh North East Food Bank at the assembly. Please bring tinned & dried foods and also toiletries. They say they are particularly in need of tinned steamed puddings and rice pudding at the moment, also custard. We’ll make sure it all gets delivered.

We invite you to join us on Sunday 3rd November at Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne Street, Stockbridge EH4 1JB. Family (and dog) friendly, fun and free.
