Sunday Assembly 4 May 2025: The Land, Embroidered

Sunday Assembly 4 May 2025: The Land, Embroidered

The art of traditional embroidery is widespread in Palestine. Originally made and worn in rural areas, the practice is now common in all of Palestine and among members of the diaspora, and is inscribed in the United Nations register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Community member Rayya Ghul will be bringing her collection of vintage embroidered gowns and speaking about this tradition, what it means for her and how these beautiful artifacts tell important stories.

And of course there will be our usual mix of singing great songs together with the house band, reflections, chats, tea and cake and community all in a non-religious setting. Let’s celebrate this amazing life together.

Get your Sunday off to an enlivening and enlightening start. Free to attend, all welcome, family and dog friendly. Meet some great people, sing along and help yourself and others to Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More – that’s Sunday Assembly.

Sunday 4 May 2025, 11.30am, Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne St, Stockbridge EH4 1JB. Free to attend, family and dog friendly.
