This month we dive into the world of performance poetry. SA Edinburgh chair Mark McKergow will reveal his prize-winning adventures in the world of poetry slamming over two decades ago; the inside story, what makes a great performance poem, the rules and strategies for winning. Hear Mark’s journey from intrigued audience member to taking the stage in the British poetry slam championships. Mark will also recall poets he performed alongside (some are still going!) and (of course) perform some of his own poems.
There will be our usual mix of singing great songs together with the house band, reflections, chats, tea and cake and community all in a non-religious setting. Let’s celebrate this amazing life together.
