Sunday Assembly 6th August 2023: Positives Through Loss with Jo Caulfield

Sunday Assembly 6th August 2023: Positives Through Loss with Jo Caulfield

We always have a Fringe-themed event in August, and this year it’s a particularly special one. Our speaker is comedian and writer Jo Caulfield. Jo has just written her first book The Funny Thing About Death, an account of her relationship with older sister Annie and what happens after a shock cancer diagnosis. Jo will be speaking to us about what she’s learned and the community she’s found since Annie’s death, raising money, the gifts her sister gave her, and the many moments of being helped (often by strangers) along the way. This promises to be a very special assembly with one of our top stage performers venturing into new territory.

Don’t miss Jo’s Fringe Show Razor-Sharp, 8.15pm at Stand 3 most evenings during the festival.

And as usual there will be songs to sing with our house band, poems, reflections, chats, tea and cake. Join Edinburgh’s ‘secular congregation’ and enjoy a wonderful start to your Sunday. We are about inclusive community, inspiring ourselves, supporting others and celebrating this one life we know we have.

Please reserve your place at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/positives-through-loss-with-jo-caulfield-a-sunday-assembly-event-tickets-678516780957 .

Sunday 6 August 2023, 11.30am, Lifecare Edinburgh, 2 Cheyne St, Stockbridge EH4 1JB. Free to attend, family and dog friendly.
“I’m so thankful to have recently heard of Sunday Assembly and now to have joined. It’s just what I think has been missing for me and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I’m loving it.” – says a recent member of our ‘congregration’.
